Design Talk in a Community of Innovators

چکیده
This technical report describes an exploratory analysis of a community of innovators who indirectly contributed to the design of del.icio.us, a system for social tagging. Participants in this community, which is mediated primarily by an e-mail listserv and guided by a de-facto moderator, envision and reflect upon systems for social tagging. The analysis of a sample of messages shows that participants evoke patterns of conversation that promote reflection and creativity. This finding, in turn, leads to opportunities for enhancing social creativity and the management of design knowledge in computer mediated spaces. Design Talk in a Community of Innovators David G. Opening the Policy Window to Mobilize Action Against Corruption in the Health Sector; Comment on “We Need to Talk About Corruption in Health Systems”
Corruption in the health sector has been a “dirty secret” in the health policy and international development community, but recent global activities point to a day when it will no longer be neglected as a key determinant of health. To further explore next steps forward, this commentary applies the Kingdon’s multiple-streams framework (MSF) to assess what opportunities are available to mobilize ...

متن کاملWe Need to Talk About Corruption in Health Systems
The health sector consistently appears prominently in surveys of perceived corruption, with considerable evidence that this has serious adverse consequences for patients. Yet this issue is far from prominent in the international health policy discourse. We identify five reasons why the health policy community has been reluctant to talk about it. These are the problem of defining corruption, the...
متن کاملAre complex innovators more persistent than single innovators ? An empirical analysis of innovation persistence drivers
This paper examines the persistence of innovation behaviour at the firm level (manufacturing and services sectors). We attempt to answer the question: does being successful in past innovation activities increase the probability of being successful in current innovation activities? We contribute to the literature by explicitly distinguishing between single and complex innovation strategies. Usin...
